Weekly letter from Isaac

OKAY...SO, life....yea, it is going great! Elder Wright is a champ, I love being a missionary, and baptising someone is about the best thing I have ever done in my life! Last Saturday I was privileged to baptise Tagen Rene Gaultney :) it went wonderful! Her nonmember grandmother and father were there. It was amazing. I was so nervous, I forgot a towel and a change of shirts but it all worked out in the end! When I think of it I want to shout for joy (but I am in a library) she is a brilliant young lady who will go far in life due to her desire to be close to Christ!! Elder Wright Confirmed her a member and blessed her with the Gift of the Holy Ghost on Sunday during Sacrament! I was given the opportunity to stand in the circle. I loved it.

During me baptising Tagen Gaultney, I did not recognize the peace that was there, I wanted so bad for her to feel the spirit, so she knew It was done by proper authority, she did. After I changed back into a suit and especially when every one was done and gone, and I was back out on the streets knocking doors and talking to people (we had an hour left of proselyting time we used to contact a neighbor of ours whom we lent the movie "The Restoration to") I felt a quite, yet when focused on encompassing, feeling of peace.

God saw fit in his infinite goodness to bless me with a tender mercy in feeling a greater abundance of the spirit due to the ordinance I was given the opportunity to take part in. Truly he is our loving Heavenly Father. Our Savior lives, I know it, I know God is real. I know these things due to much prayer, much study, and pondering the mysteries of life.

Our God is the best.

Letter from Isaac!

We wanted to share the most recent letter from Isaac so here it is!!
___________________________________________

hahaha maybe I shouldn't have told you about the Dog attacks ;)I am fine, no worries, the last dogs that attacked me got my foot in their jaws...both of them...and one got my companion's (Elder Howick at the time) foot in his jaw also ;) then I chased them!!! Aaaaand the nonmember was looking out the window the whole time...but it was a part member family anyway, so they were fine. Well life is great, The Lord has called me to train again. Elder Wright it my new companion! He is awesome. He loves teaching, he is obedient, and he has a great desire to be the best he can be!!!

I am so glad that the Lord sent me to New Mexico, it has made me truly learn so much. Especially how to answer all the tough questions :). Well Tagen Gaultney is getting baptised this Friday!!! We have taught her all the lessons. We established daily contact by calling each night and giving a scripture to read!!! We fasted during General Conference to know how to help the father...I feel we just need to get him to read the Book of Mormon and fast and pray over it. Now getting him to Want to do that will be the challenge. He is a great fella, We are still praying and pondering to figure out how to help his family be an Eternal family!!

We will get 3 baptisms this month...I will do my best to make sure of it! Missy Romero and Kyndra Viallobos need to be baptised. It is always the women getting baptised it seems! The darn men need to become smarter!!! :) (Kambria will probably like that) :) Tagen had her interview on Sunday at 12:00, and the Morris family is helping with the baptism and such.

General Conference = AMAZING!!I loved both of Elder Uckdorf's talks. His talk on Hope was by far one of the best talks for me to hear. In the end, Elder Hollands talk was my favorite. To be honest I was in tears by the end of it. So were other Elders (the Zone leaders I call and report to each night). Truly it was a timely talk for me to hear. I remember the times I have sliped up as a missionary, so many times, and felt alone and in need of forgiveness. I am glad there are apostles to strengthen, lift, and support us, so we realize just how much our God truly does love us. They are true Prophets and Apostles. The spirit of God says so.

Being a District Leader can make me feel inadequate at times, yet Elder Uckdorfs talk on hope helps me realize the character to have, and the mind frame to stay with: one of hope and a firm knowledge that My Lord and Your Lord is on the side of the righteous. That means a ton to me. The trials that have lead me to rely on him so much also mean a lot to me, as do the moments where I felt alone, for without them I would not know the power of my God, and the truth that he will help his faithful servants in the end and in the eternities.

Love always
Elder Isaac Benjamin Lomeli(p.s. love you all)
